Keurig Caramel Latte Ingredients

Step-by-Step Preparation Procedure

First things first:

Gather all your materials and have them within easy reach. Make sure to measure out the appropriate portions where necessary.

Now, simply follow these steps…

Step 1: Coat Your Glass Cup with Caramel Sauce

Coat Your Glass Cup with Caramel Sauce

To begin:

Grab a tall glass cup and your caramel sauce. Then, coat the inside of the cup with sauce.

You see:

You don’t just want to pour it straight in because you’d just end up sludging the sauce at the bottom of the cup. The keyword is “coat.”

Meaning:

The insides should be entirely or dispersedly covered in caramel sauce, depending on your desired caramel content. There’s an appeal to it; don’t worry.

And I’ll explain it:

The caramel sauce is the sole ingredient that converts this drink from a basic iced latte to a flavored iced caramel latte.

If the caramel sits at the bottom, it won’t fully dissolve and incorporate into the drink.

Get it now?

Anyway, here’s how to line the insides of your glass cup.

Tilt the glass at a convenient angle and slowly pour the caramel sauce onto the side.

Then:

Gently roll the glass to spread the sauce around its circumference and set it aside.

Step 2: Power on Your Keurig Coffee Maker

Now:

Let’s actually get started. Power on your Keurig machine and check that the water reservoir is sufficiently filled.

If you haven’t already done this:

Ensure all the brewing and frothing components are clean and functioning correctly.

Step 3: Froth the Milk

Next:

Pour 6 ounces of milk into your froth pitcher.

But before we continue, don’t you wonder what type of milk you need for this recipe?

You see:

There has been some controversy on the best milk for froth-dependent beverages. I suggest whole milk because it froths better and gives your beverage a rich taste.

In line with this:

The International Journal of Gastronomy and Food Science asserts that cow milk has better foaming properties than plant-based dairy alternatives.

Regardless, plant-based alternatives such as oat, soy, and almond milk have proven to work just fine.

Let’s continue:

You’ll see two lines marked “LATTE” and “CAPP.” Make sure the milk doesn’t go past the “LATTE” line.

Froth the Milk

Next:

Because we’re making an iced drink, you must froth cold milk. So, click on the “COLD” button on the frothing section of your Keurig brewer to bypass the steaming process.

Then:

Press the “LATTE” button to start the frothing cycle.

When the cycle is complete:

Fill your coated glass with ice cubes and pour in the frothed milk. Then, place the glass at the center of the drip tray.

Step 4: Insert the K-Cup Pod into Your Keurig Brewer

Insert the K-Cup

Following that:

Grab your favorite espresso K-Cup pod and insert it into the K-Cup holder. To access the K-Cup holder, carefully lift the handle of your Keurig.

Insert the K-Cup

Here’s a pro tip:

Espresso roast K-Cups are the best for espresso-based beverages because they emulate the boldness of an authentic espresso shot.

Depending on your taste, you can opt for dark, medium, or light espresso roasts.

If it helps:

I used a dark roast for this recipe.

Step 5: Begin the Brew

Now:

Your brew won’t start itself, will it?

So, click on the “LATTE & CAPP” button. Pushing this button triggers the STRONGbutton

Here’s why:

For milk-concentrated beverages like the latte, the base coffee needs a lot of support.

You still want to be able to taste the coffee.

As such:

This feature helps you brew stronger coffee by extracting the richest and most profound flavors from your coffee grounds.

You won’t have to worry about your milk or supporting flavors overshadowing the distinct coffee flavor completely.

In any case:

Click on the bold “K” at the center of your Keurig’s top panel to begin the brew.

And just like in my iced coffee recipe, your Keurig should brew directly into your ice-filled cup on the drip tray.

Step 6: Enjoy Your Tasty Drink

Note:

Because of the ice, your coffee should cool down rapidly while the brew continues.

Be sure to:

Look out for the beautiful layers formed from your coffee’s interaction with the milk, caramel sauce, and milk froth.

This part should be particularly satisfying if you find gradients therapeutic.

Enjoy Your Tasty Drink

Finally:

Top off your delicious iced caramel latte with a drizzle of caramel sauce, and enjoy!

Distinguish Your Iced Caramel Latte with CoffeeHolli’s Remarkable Tips & Tricks

  • Got time to spare? Prepare some iced coffee cubes before making this drink. Substituting regular ice cubes with coffee ice helps prevent your drink from being watered down. But be careful; it increases the caffeine content
  • While you can opt for caramel syrup, I highly recommend caramel sauce for this recipe. Not only is it more decadent and thicker, but it also dissolves into the drink quickly. Caramel syrup may not mix properly with your drink and end up sinking to the bottom of your glass.
  • For the best froth, use whole milk because of its high fat and protein content. For people who prefer non-dairy alternatives, oat milk seems to be a user favorite and is said to froth beautifully.
  • Top your iced caramel latte off with a swirl of whipped cream before drizzling some caramel sauce or syrup. If you have a sweet tooth like me, add a dash of cinnamon sugar for an authentic taste and added sweetness.
  • If you’d prefer an iced salted caramel latte, use this recipe with a twist. Simply switch your caramel sauce with salted caramel sauce for the desired results.

Pair your creamy beverage with some fruit cake, chocolate tart, or any other pastry like cookies, pies, and buns.
