Quick Review

The K-Mini and K-Mini Plus are similar in a lot of ways. So, how can you easily decide which is best for you?

Well:

Here’s a short assessment of both products beginning with the Keurig K-Mini.

Keurig K-Mini (Rating: 80 %)

Get this:

The Keurig K-Mini is a space-efficient coffee maker designed to meet the most basic of java needs.

It’s a great choice for those who value simplicity and the joys of fast coffee brewing at home.

Plus:

Where it lacks in functionality, it more than makes up for in practicality. And that’s a big win. In a nutshell, it’s easy to use, fairly affordable, and makes quality, tasty coffee.

Keurig Mini Brew Settings

And that’s not all…

It works well with Keurig brand coffee pods, further simplifying the brewing process.

Overall, the K-Mini was designed to take up very little space and still provide a quality cup of coffee.

And that simply can’t be beaten.

That said:

What are some of the Keurig K-Mini’s weaknesses?

Unfortunately, it is a single-serve coffee maker that requires a refill after every brew. Therefore, it’s not so ideal for a group of more than two coffee drinkers.

Keurig K-Mini Reservoir

And you can forget about making espresso at home.

Why?

This coffee maker doesn’t have slow drip or temperature-control settings. And unlike the K-Mini Plus, users cannot brew a stronger cup of coffee.

Pros

  • Compact Size
  • User Friendly
  • Affordable

Cons

  • Fixed Reservoir
  • Fixed Brew Strength
  • Difficult to Maintain

Keurig K-Mini Plus (Rating: 85 %)

The K-Mini Plus is a newer and improved K-Mini.

While it is similar to the typical Keurig K-Mini in a lot of ways, they also have their differences.

For Instance:

The Keurig K-Mini Plus has a Strong Brew button. This is a particularly handy feature for those who want a more intense kick from their coffee.

Also:

Much like the K-Mini, this model can fit a travel mug. But, it also comes with a handy pod storage container.

Even better:

The Keurig K-Mini Plus has a detachable reservoir. It’s the same size as the K-Mini, but easier to use, clean, and refill.

Keurig Mini Plus Detachable Reservoir

Ultimately:

The Keurig K-Mini Plus has more features than its predecessor, most of which are highly welcomed. All in the same compact and space-efficient shell.

Pros

  • Compact Size
  • Detachable Water Reservoir
  • Variable Coffee Strength
  • User Friendly
  • Strength control

Cons

  • High Price Tag
  • Small Reservoir

Coffee Holli’s Recommendation: Which One Should You Buy?

Now:

There isn’t a big difference between the K-Mini and the K-Mini Plus.

Both have the same design/shape/size, brew an equal capacity, and face the same troubleshooting problems.

And:

After examining both products extensively, the question remains – which should you buy?

Well:

The Keurig K-mini is very space-efficient and brews at a fixed strength. It is perfect for users who are minimalist with their coffee tastes and don’t mind the fixed reservoir.

Conversely:

The Keurig K-mini Plus offers users a few more options, in terms of brew strength and maintenance. It’s an excellent choice if you don’t mind the extra 40$.

Ultimately:

We believe the Keurig K-Mini Plus offers better value for money. The price might be a bit higher, but the added features justify this purchase.

  1. I own the K10 Mini but felt it was getting older and it may be time for a new machine so I bought the K Mini. I have only had this machine for about a week but so far I am very pleased with it.
