Step-by-Step Preparation Procedure

Before you begin:

It’s important to follow a preliminary procedure when making any drink with your Nespresso machine.

First:

Gather all the necessary ingredients and arrange them on your kitchen counter.

Next:

Inspect your Nespresso machine for any defects and make sure the water reservoir is adequately filled.

Now, proceed with the following steps to create the perfect iced coffee:

Step 1: Power on Your Nespresso Machine

Let’s begin!

Of course, to brew coffee, you have to turn on your Nespresso machine. And as the Nespresso Vertuo has no distinct power button, you may have trouble turning it on

However, it is as easy as this:

Hold down the bar on the front panel for about two seconds until the top panel button blinks a green light.

Then, wait for the light to become steady, and your brewer is ready.

Step 2: Insert the Nespresso Coffee Capsule into the Brewer

Next:

It’s time to pop your preferred Nespresso capsule into your brewer. Softly lift the front panel bar upwards to trigger it to open up in one fluid motion.

Insert the Nespresso Coffee Capsule

Then:

Pick up your selected Nespresso coffee pod and place it in the capsule compartment.

Be sure to face the dome downwards, or your brewer will struggle with puncturing the capsule.

Now:

There’s an easy way to differentiate between espresso and coffee capsules.

Coffee capsules are usually 230 ml (7.77 fl oz), significantly larger than the 40 ml and 80 ml espresso pods.

Anyway:

Close your Nespresso coffee brewer by gently pushing the front panel bar down.

Step 3: Add Some Ice Cubes to Your Glass

Now:

You’re ready to start brewing. But have you placed your glass under the dispenser?

Do this:

Grab a tall glass cup and fill it with ice cubes. You’d want to leave about a quarter of the glass unfilled, so your coffee doesn’t spill during the brew.

Add Some Ice Cubes to Your Glass

Then:

Set the glass on the drip tray. Ensure it is seated directly under the dispenser to avoid spillage.

Step 4: Start the Brew Cycle

Finally:

Begin the brew cycle by pushing the button with the coffee icon on the top panel of your Nespresso machine.

You should hear mechanical noises indicating that your Nespresso is spinning the capsule.

Start to dispense coffee Nespresso

Not too long after this:

Your Nespresso will start to dispense coffee into your ice-filled glass. Wait until the last drops of coffee fall into the glass, then customize your drink as you see fit.

One last thing:

Research from the Institute for Food Science and Technology has shown that consumers typically go for iced coffee with a low-calorie count

And the National Library of Medicine suggests you follow suit.

Why?

Coffee without the added frills of milk and sweeteners is calorie-free and is said to have possible health benefits.

At the end of the day, it is completely up to you.

By now:

You must have realized there’s no trick to making a glass of delicious iced coffee. So, just brew your coffee and add some ice.

That’s all it takes!

Elevate Your Iced Coffee with Coffee Holli’s Special Tips & Tricks

  • You can add more ice cubes to your drink if it is not as chilled as you’d like. Sometimes, brewing coffee directly over the ice could melt most of it and reduce the temperature.
  • Trying to avoid watering down the coffee content in your drink? Then, iced coffee cubes are just what you need. If you’ve got the time, freeze a batch of coffee and use it instead of regular ice. You’ll notice your drink has a stronger coffee flavor.
  • Add a splash of cold milk to your Nespresso iced coffee to give it a creamy taste. You don’t need a milk frother for this. You can use whole milk, half & half, skimmed milk, or even coffee creamer to get similar results.
  • You can also include supplementary flavors in your drink. Iced coffee combines nicely with vanilla syrup, cinnamon syrup, salted caramel syrup, peppermint syrup, and peanut butter. Plus, adding chocolate syrup will turn your iced coffee into an iced mocha.
  • These syrups are not only great for adding flavor to your drink, but they also help to sweeten it. You can also opt for some honey or granulated sugar to sweeten your drink.
  • Have some snacks like a warm cookie, brownie, waffles, cinnamon bun, or fruit cake to go with your iced coffee. I promise you’ll have the most refreshing experience.
